NHS Digital Programmes, Delivered.

Discovery & Programme Strategy

Rapid programme assessment and strategy development, delivering a clear, actionable path forward.

01

Programme Current State

Clinical, operational, digital, and supplier stakeholder engagement, alongside review of project plans, documentation, and assumptions, to establish how the programme is functioning in practice.

02

Clinical Systems Workflow & Technical Review

Assessment of workflows, system design, operational impacts and key dependencies across LIMS, OCS, EPR, clinical systems and associated integrations.

03

Testing, Readiness & Clinical Safety

Evaluation of testing approach, plans, evidence, and coverage, alongside overall readiness for progression. Regulatory alignment review against ISO 15189, MHRA, and DCB0160 requirements and identification of gaps that would prevent timely or safe deployment.

04

Options, Planning & Business Case

Structured options appraisals covering implementation implications, dependencies, and risk. Deployment plan proposals and a proportionate business case to support investment decisions, governance progression and procurement.

05

Discovery Report & Recommendations

A definitive view of delivery risks, constraints, and what is achievable within your timeframes, technology landscape, and operational conditions. Tailored to your organisation with outputs suitable for executive and board-level discussion.

End-to-End Implementation

Hands-on delivery leadership across the full LIMS, OCS, EPR and clinical systems implementation lifecycle, from inception through to safe Go-Live and BAU.

01

Programme & Project Management

End-to-end programme and project management, including planning, governance, reporting, delivery and stakeholder and supplier management.

02

Requirements & Solution Design

Definition of requirements and support for solution design aligned to clinical and laboratory workflows. Working with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure configuration and design decisions reflect operational needs and regulatory requirements (DCB0160, ISO 15189, MHRA).

03

Integration, Analysers & Data Migration

Oversight and coordination of integrations across LIMS, OCS, EPR, and downstream systems. Includes interface testing, analyser connectivity, data migration strategy and validation support.

04

Test Strategy, Management & Execution

Definition of test strategy and management of test execution, including coordination of system integration and user acceptance testing. Covers defect management and validation against requirements.

05

Cutover Planning & Training

Oversight of training, cutover planning and assessment of operational readiness ahead of go-live. Includes alignment to clinical safety and regulatory requirements to ensure safe deployment.

06

Go-Live & Transition to BAU

Execution of Go-Live and cutover activities, followed by hypercare support and transition to business-as-usual. Ensure services are stabilised and operating effectively post-deployment.

Programme Recovery & Assurance

Targeted intervention to stabilise programmes that are underperforming, at risk, or no longer delivering expected outcomes with a focus on restoring control.

01

Independent Assessment & Root Cause

Independent assessment of programme status across plans, governance, supplier performance, technical design, and operational readiness. Identification of underlying root causes of underperformance across the programme.

02

Recovery Plan & Reset

Definition of a structured recovery plan, including reset of deployment plans, controls, governance, and testing. Aligning delivery with realistically achievable outcomes.

03

Stabilisation & Issue Resolution

Targeted intervention to stabilise delivery, including issue triage, resolution, and mitigation of risks. Supporting safe progression where delivery is at risk.

04

Readiness Reassessment & Go-Live

Reassessment of clinical safety position and operational deployment readiness, with alignment to DCB0160 and regulatory requirements. Ensuring programmes can progress safely following recovery actions, including Go-Live support with hypercare.

05

Transition to BAU

Support transition to sustainable business-as-usual operating models, ensuring governance, ownership, and operational processes are in place to maintain the system.
