Three Founders. Decades of Experience. One Firm.

Exarlis brings scientific insight, executive strategy, and delivery control together. Formed by leaders who understand healthcare from the inside.

Ian Beattie

With over 20 years of experience, Ian has held IT director roles across NHS pathology, acute care, and national services, alongside extensive experience as a consultant. His work has included stabilising organisations, modernising IT operations, and delivering large-scale digital change under significant operational pressure. His experience spans LIMS, EPR, infrastructure modernisation, shared services, and complex multi-site programmes.

Ian routinely operates at board level, providing clear, pragmatic advice where risk is high and delivery confidence has been lost. He is known for holding suppliers and third-party partners to account, resetting governance, and ensuring commercial arrangements and delivery models support successful execution.

Grounded in deep operational and technical understanding, Ian cuts through ambiguity and unnecessary complexity. He focuses on what is achievable, what will work in practice, and what executives need to do next to restore control and delivery credibility.

Ana-Maria Tomova

Ana-Maria's background spans academic research followed by laboratory management in national high-throughput diagnostic services, giving her a deep understanding of clinical workflows, regulatory environments, and the practical realities of operating live healthcare services.

This combination underpins her ability to translate clinical, laboratory, and scientific requirements into delivery-critical digital transformation decisions that stand up under sustained operational and regulatory pressure.

Ana-Maria has been accountable for healthcare digital transformation implementation both from within laboratory services and as a consultant, and has since repeatedly delivered complex, enterprise-scale healthcare digital programmes across NHS networks, embedding ISO 15189, MHRA, and NHS clinical safety requirements directly into programme governance, testing, and assurance. Her delivery experience spans LIMS, order communications, analyser and EPR integrations, and multi-system go-lives in regulated environments.

Samuel Adeniji

Samuel brings extensive experience with previous delivery of IT infrastructure, business transformation and leading multi-workstream delivery across regulated environments, where programmes involve multiple clinical, operational, digital, and supplier stakeholders and where tolerance for failure is low. His focus is on ensuring delivery remains controlled, transparent, and credible from mobilisation through to go-live and stabilisation.

Samuel routinely works with executives, clinical leaders, and delivery teams to align stakeholders around clear priorities, realistic plans, and shared accountability. He is particularly effective in environments where competing interests, unclear ownership, or delivery fatigue threaten progress.

Known for his calm, structured approach, Samuel provides the delivery grip that allows senior leaders to maintain confidence in programme execution — ensuring delivery governance is applied consistently, risks are surfaced early, and delivery remains controlled, transparent, and aligned across stakeholders.
